What does the building automation assessment cover?
The assessment is designed for people who work with or are learning building automation, HVAC controls and automation engineering. It uses 30 questions selected from a larger 120-question bank. Every attempt contains five questions from each of six technical domains and includes questions from difficulty levels 0 through 4.
The six domains are Processes & HVAC, Sensors, Actuators & I/O, Control & PLC, Communication & Integration, Commissioning & Troubleshooting, and Electrical & Field Systems.
The questions are practical rather than intentionally tricky. Each question has four answer alternatives and one correct answer. Topics include AHU operation, sensors, analog and digital I/O, PI/PID control, PLC logic, Modbus, RS-485, register interpretation, commissioning, fault finding, relays, contactors, 24 V control circuits and field-device interfaces.
How is the result calculated?
Each domain contains one selected question from every difficulty level. Higher-difficulty questions carry more weight in the 0-4 domain score. The final page shows an overall result together with all six domain results, so a strong result in one area does not hide a weaker result in another.
The assessment is intended as a technical self-assessment, not a professional certification. Real building automation competence also depends on project experience, customer work, communication, commissioning experience and the ability to deliver systems in real conditions.
Can I get the result as a PDF?
Yes. After completing the assessment, you can request a one-page PDF report by entering your name and email address. The PDF contains your name, completion date, overall result, correct-answer count and the six technical domain scores.
The PDF does not include incorrect answers, weaknesses or learning recommendations. Those remain on the private result screen for your own learning.
